What is electromagnetic radiation?
As we know today, electricity is one of the expressions of electromagnetic radiation force. This force is the basis of atomic structure And the molecular material known to us , and is responsible for a wide range of natural phenomena . Everyone is exposed to some degree in everyday life. Other electromagnetic radiation fields resulting from natural or artificial sources appear at different frequencies.
After rapid technological development and the introduction of new devices use, exposure to electromagnetic radiation fields is growing.
There is no doubt that use in electrical and electronics has benefited human welfare, but on the other hand in recent years there is concern about the possibility of damage to health from exposure to electric and magnetic fields and to the electromagnetic radiation that they create, especially in Electricity network - Frequency 50 Hz.
Radiation divided into two: Ionizing radiation and non Ionizing radiation, electromagnetic radiation.
Electromagnetic radiation (EM radiation or EMR) is one of the fundamental phenomena of electromagnetism, behaving as waves propagating through space, and also as photon particles traveling through space, carrying radiant energy. In a vacuum, it propagates at a characteristic speed, the speed of light, normally in straight lines. EMR is emitted and absorbed by charged particles. As an electromagnetic wave, it has both electric and magnetic field components, which oscillate in a fixed relationship to one another, perpendicular to each other and perpendicular to the direction of energy and wave propagation.
Electromagnetic radiation includes AC Fields, DC Fields, Magnetic Fields, Electric Fields, RF Waves / Microwaves, Ionizing and non Ionizing Radiation. AC refers to alternating current which continually changes polarity for positive to negative creating a push pull force effect. DC refers to direct current which is a constant continual field or a constant force. RF and Microwaves have alternating field properties but at a much higher frequency.
Does Electromagnetic radiation dangerous?
The dangerous of electromagnetic radiation are becoming very evident and associated with many diseases and health problems. Studies all over the world prove the Electromagnetic radiation hazards on our health. Research shown strong connection between Electromagnetic radiation exposure and cancer.ICNIRP (the international commission on non Ionizing radiation protection) works according to the "precautionary principle", According to that principle: Have to minimize the degree of public exposure to electromagnetic radiation as possible, using the most advance technologies.
